I recently took a road trip from Los Angeles (my home) to Portland, Oregon with my sister and had an amazing time. I can’t say I ever got super dressed up (except for tea at the Rotunda, pictured above). My wardrobe mostly consisted of leggings, t-shirts, sweatshirts and the occasional pair of jeans but comfort is KEY when you’re driving through the middle of nowhere for hours on end.
We stopped in San Francisco for two nights and then headed to Ashland, OR (tbh do not recommend unless you’re into small towns and Shakespeare festivals) for a very short stop before we got to Portland. The drive from L.A. to San Francisco is beautiful and I highly recommend adding driving up the PCH to your bucket list if it’s not already on there. We only had one full day in San Francisco but we made the most of it and thrift shopped, did a little bit of sight seeing and grabbed dinner with an old friend.
Here’s my short list of where we went in our short time there:
- Leo’s Oyster Bar
- Rotunda at Neiman Marcus
- Wasteland & Buffalo Exchange on Haight Street
- Lombard Street
- Ghiradelli Square
- Golden Gate Bridge (had to drive across on our way out of town, even if it wasn’t the most efficient route)
I definitely could have packed lighter (oops) but I only brought a carry on for my trip to Atlanta last weekend and that is progress, my friends.
By the way- the Chanel bag I am pictured wearing above is from Tradesy. Here is a link to their entire Chanel collection. You can get $50 off your first order with the code LIZBEST50 until July 12th 🙂 Happy Shopping!
